samplerate could not be set....
Hi,

Just loaded the latest version of SX2 (2.0.1) onto my PC. When I now try to open a project I get the following error message in SX..

samplerate could not be set, This may be due to sampleclock being set to external sync

Can anybody help me with this maybe you have had a similar problem, I don't know what to do Im tearing my hair out..

Cheers
Phil

Did you select the 01x as the asio driver?

Set the project options for your default song to the same sample rate as the 01X is set in autoconnector. This is an age old issue.

Did that, but the message still appears (?).

The only option that I could select (and is selected) there is 48KHz.

Re: samplerate could not be set....
i find that i get this message if i boot up sx2 before auto connecting the o1x! therefore i would try this! switch o1x driver on>then autoconnect the o1x> then boot up sx2 and it should be fine then( that being if its the same samplerate message-problem i get if i forget to boot up in the way i have stated above.! give it a whirl and let us know.

Re: samplerate could not be set....
That's the way I'm booting up. So that's not the solution to my problem.

Besides that, it's only the message. Everything works fine.

Except that I have to run on Low Performance settings with a PIV 3.00GHz / 2048Mb memory. Otherwise I'm loosing the connection between the PC and the 01x every few seconds.

Re: samplerate could not be set....
I think it is really just informational. Basically it is telling you what ever you have set as default in Cubase is different then the project you are loading. An example: Cubase is set to 48khz but the project you are loading is 44khz)Since the 01x can be the "external clock" and can set itself to master automatically, Cubase is just letting you know what is going on. I hope that makes some sort of sence, I could be way off base. Brian

Re: samplerate could not be set....
Well my project settings are 48KHz, which I can't change because it's the only value there.

And the Auto Connector is also set to 48KHz with the PC as the Master.

So both values are the same, so I think the message shouldn't be there at all.

BTW: I also disabled the onboard soundchip on my mainboard, because these kind of problems could also be caused by multiple soundcards running on different clock values.

Re: samplerate could not be set....
Okay, I think I found a solution, work around or maybe I just learned how to do it the right way

Whatever! Here's what I've did.

- Start a new project

- Open the Project settings and click OK (even if the settings can't be changed so the samplerate is always set 'correct')

- Save the project and you're done

It works fine for me because I don't get the error when restarting Cubase and opening the project.
