Re: not working for me...
I guess I wasnt clear. The GBP does not seem to be able to reestablish connectivity with my hardware reliably once its powered off.
I was just providing an example of one way to confuse the mLAN driver by mentioning the manager in my example above.
My real problem is is this:
Finish session in Logic and shut it down Quit GBP Turn off 01v96 (Mac stays on) Turn on 01v96 the next morning Start GBP Cant connect error!
As you can see, I'm not doing anything abusive here. I'm not asking miracles, and I'm not yanking the devices out from under the mLAN driver. A firewire drive, as well as a MOTU 828 can handle this sort of thing.
All I'm saying is that sometimes the above sequence works, and sometimes it doesnt. The new driver vastly improves the situation, since the previous driver WOULD NOT reconnect w/o a reboot.

Re: not working for me...
Tuf,
Believe it or not, I actually never tried this!!!
I can change GPB configuration but I never actually switch off anything... (the Mlan gear or the computer...).
I'll check this weekend if I can do this on my system and report back...

Re: not working for me...
Just curious ..
What happens if you log off your mac and log back on before turning on your 01V
The new driver notes (read me or install guide.. I can't remember).. states that the mac should be turned on before the mLAN device. Maybe just logging off will do and be faster.
It has to do with reseting the firewire bus if I recall..
Maybe worth a try?
